Mariam Assadian is the driving force behind the growth and expansion of Life Science Outsourcing’s Diagnostics division, skillfully crafting strategies to enhance the customer base, solidify existing partnerships, and boost market presence. With her profound industry knowledge, innovative mindset, and technical expertise, Mariam is dedicated to delivering exceptional value to clients.
A Vanderbilt University graduate, Mariam majored in Neuroscience and focused on the cellular and molecular pathology of retinal degenerative diseases. After completing her degree, she pursued research at the esteemed Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute, exploring epigenetics in relation to retinal disease states. Concurrently, she obtained her Master’s Degree in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins.
Mariam’s career took a commercial turn when she joined Macherey-Nagel, where she sold Nucleic Acid purification consumables. Drawing upon her Neuroscience background, she later joined Precision NanoSystems, a start-up revolutionizing nanoparticle synthesis. In this role, she sold capital equipment that leveraged microfluidic cartridge consumables for nanoprecipitation reactions.
Continuing her professional journey, Mariam shifted her focus to business development within the design, development, and manufacturing sectors. At HEIDENHAIN, she managed a new business unit for the Life Sciences industry, concentrating on glass microfluidic devices used primarily in next-generation sequencing. Her expertise then led her to SCHOTT MINIFAB, where she supported the design, development, and production of polymer/plastic microfluidic consumables typically employed in the diagnostics sector.
